Emily Ambuul
 
Emily Ambuul was born in Pasadena, California. Emily began her career at Pasadena Dance Theatre. Under the guidance of Cynthia Young she was given pre-professional training and experience which included performing at Regional Dance America (RDA) and performing many works by a variety of choreographers. After spending one year in the San Francisco Ballet School she was named an apprentice to San Francisco Ballet in 1998. She joined the company the following year and completed her seventh season with them in May 2005.
 
Her repertoire includes both classical and contemporary roles. Some of the classical ballets include Giselle, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote, and Balanchine's Allegro Brillante, The Four Temperaments, and Who Cares. Some contemporary works include Hans Van Manen's Grosse Fuge, Peter Martin's The Waltz Project, and Mark Morris' Sandpaper Ballet. She has worked with and performed for choreographers including SFB's artistic director Helgi Tomasson, Christopher Wheeldon, Julia Adams, Lar Lubovitch, and Yuri Possokov and she has performed in ballets by MacMillan, Robbins and Kudelka, among others.
